Food justice

This has two main threads: firstly, ensuring everyone has access to good quality, affordable food, and secondly, ensuring that food is coming from sustainable and ethical sources which support the welfare of those who have grown it. 

We are a strong advocate of Newcastle Foodbank, and host their services every week of the year, ensuring all those in the East of Newcastle who need food have access to it. We invite all users of the building to donate any food to our donation box, at the entrance to the Life Centre, and we host free weekly cookery classes with Nourish Food School, intended to help provide cheap, easily accessible food options. 

We are also committed to buying Fairtrade ingredients for our tea, coffee and other refreshments.
