Our vision and values
We believe our vision is a clear one. Jesus’ last words to His followers was:
‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ (Matthew 28:19-20)
We seek to live this out in all that we do and how we serve.
We do this with five key values which underpin all we do here. We strive to be:
We pursue Jesus, believe He is the hope of the world, and desire for Him to be the central focus of our worship, lives and communities.
We are committed to journeying in community, encouraging each other to grow spiritually and seeking ways to love and follow Jesus, in lives of Sabbath rhythm.
We serve a loving, generous God. We want to reflect that generosity in our lives, prayers, time, giving and homes. We want to bless our church, community, city and world.
As the Spirit sent the first disciples, we commit to being outward-focussed, joining with God’s mission in the world and seeking to share the Good News of Jesus in word and action.
As the Father, Son and Spirit draw us within the circle of their shared life, we want to respond by offering radical, inclusive welcome to everyone.
We are a member of the Baptist Union, and therefore form part of Baptists Together.
We believe that everyone is welcome to church, regardless of background and we are a registered Place of Welcome, so that people can get regular support or a listening ear when they need it.
We are also a Living Wage employer, which we believe is important to demonstrate, and we seek to use Fairtrade resources wherever we can.
Come and visit us on a Sunday or during the week and feel free to ask us more about what we believe.
