HBC undertakes a wide range of ministries and activities. As well as Sunday morning worship services, we have a Junior Church of around 75 children that takes place during the second half of the morning service. We have a large creche too.

The church seeks to impact and serve the local communities in a number of ways, such as English speaking classes for asylum seekers and overseas students, two toddler groups, regular social events for our international members – barbeques, cabaret evenings, pub quizzes.

The church runs Alpha courses regularly and has been successful in seeing people come to faith.

Weekday activities include small lifegroups – most are mixed age, but some have specific focuses, such as young families, International and students – a mum’s bible study group and a monthly ‘Meeting Point’ group for older people.

We have had a significant ministry to students over the years and have a team that seeks to welcome and integrate students into the life of the church.

The church has a vibrant worship team of musicians who lead Sunday worship, and we have a well-established preaching team within the fellowship.

Representatives from HBC meet with the other churches in the Heaton area on a regular basis – we have given strong support to the ‘Together in Christ’ group of evangelical churches in the city and we actively support the Tyneside Prayer network that prays for the city.

We are committed to world mission.
