Carbon Fast 2009

Posted by Julie Sheasby on 24 Feb 2009

Andrew lives in Malawi in a village called Fombe that is trapped in a cycle of floods and droughts. He’s hoping this harvest will be better than the last so he can feed his family and not have to go to the city again to find work to earn £3 a week...

For people like Andrew climate change is having a devastating affect right now. I pray that we would feel God’s heart for poor communities around the world.
This lent signing up for daily emails and joining in Tearfund's carbon fast will educate, equip and empower us to change our lives so we have a less negative impact on poor communities. We can join with Christians around the world, acting as a global church we can make a huge difference.
I love to hear of many ways people at HBC are reducing their carbon footprint and trying to be more green. Let's share our experiences, the successes and the challenges throughout the carbon fast so we can support and encourage each other. As we pray and do our actions may God’s name be glorified.

You can sign up here for daily emails to receive a prayer, reflection, fact and daily action to motivate and inspire you.
