Psalms consequences

Posted by Andy Carlisle on 4 Nov 2008

During this week's Justice and Mercy meeting, we came up with the following three Psalms through a game of "consequences"...

Lord, you are an ever faithful God,
You never let people down.
Men and women are dying from AIDS, alone and rejected,
And millions cannot live to their full potential.
Please God, hear their cry and in your mercy provide for their needs.
You weep with those who weep and your heart is broken.
You are good- and your love endures.

We praise you for the wonder of your creation
You are God of time and space
The poor cry out for clean water,
Children are left fatherless, motherless and vulnerable.
They cry out to you, and demand justice.
You love all you have made and know them all by name.
You are a refuge and strength to all who turn to you.
Those who hope in you will fly like eagles and be restored.

O God, your love is amazing,
You are kind and compassionate.
In our world millions go hungry every day,
Children are dying from illness and starvation every day.
Hear the cries of the needy; please enable your church to respond,
You know their every need
Lord, you care about justice and mercy, great is your name in all the earth.
