This week's prayer letter
This week we pray for Joan & Stan Hamilton, Tim Hardy, Iwan & Jo Harries, Sean & Jen Harris, Bill & Maureen Hayton, Grace Herron and Gill Hewitson. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2
We pray that God would enable each one of us to make Him more and more our place of dwelling; that we would find our rest, refuge and safety in Him; that we would trust in Him rather than in our own schemes and mechanisms. We pray that His faithfulness would be our shield and rampart (Psalm 91:4b).
As we prepare for Hope 08 we join with other Christians across the country in thanksgiving for all God’s blessings to us. We pray that a spirit of thanksgiving will begin to flow in our society, for the leaders in our churches/workplaces to know they are appreciated, and for God’s continued mercy on and protection for our nation (see www.worldprayer.org.uk).
We thank God for the leaders He has provided in our own church. We pray that He would strengthen, protect and uphold them as they carry out the roles to which He has called them. We ask that God would guide, comfort and encourage them by His Holy Spirit moment by moment.
Sunday was Michael Stobbs’s last day as church caretaker. As we thank God for all he and Margaret have given to us over the past years, we ask that He would help them to look towards the future with courage and joy. We pray that they will embrace wholeheartedly whatever God has in store for them next.
Now is also a huge time of transition for Aileen Johnson and her fiancé Gordon. We pray that they would know God’s hand over every aspect of their lives and that, in the midst of much change, He would be their rock.
