Report from Israel (1)

Posted by Ross McCall on 2 Jul 2007

Hello friends.
We have arrived safely in Haifa with no hold ups. We met with our friends over the weekend for some training and have settled into our accomodation which is great, right in the heart of where students socialise.
Today was our first day on campus and already several of our group have people to meet up with again this evening. Amazingly within fifteen minutes on campus I bumped into a girl Anna and I met with a lot last year, but whose phone number and email we didn't have. She is called Moran and we hope she will come to a party we are throwing on Thursday night.
You may hear on the news that there have ben two rockets fired at nothern Israel from Lebanon today. We are not concerned at this point as it's several hours away and appears to be an isolated incident. Our advisors here will keep a close eye on the situation though.
Tomorrow and Tuesday we are back on campus and then wednesday we are going to the Galilee for a trip, and it's my birthday so that will be very special.
Driving into Haifa on Friday Anna and I both felt excited to be back, and felt strangely at home. This is a very special place.
Thank you for your prayers.
