Who's buzzin'?

Posted by Sean Harris on 9 Jun 2005

Please consider giving up Saturday morning and/or afternoon to join us for the Buzz activities and make a positive difference through our desire to serve Jesus and serve others. Even if you can only commit to doing an hour or so with us on the day, every contribution will add to the final impact and leave us all 'buzzzzzzin' for Jesus! There are two key projects taking place on the day: painting the outside of Ravenswood Youth Centre, and litter-picking the surrounding grass areas; and painting the perimeter railings at Paddy Freeman Park. Both still need more hands on deck. Click the arrows below for details.

The day aims to be loads of fun, and the more people we have involved with each project the better. Plus, this event isn't just open to those from church, as we'll be joined by young people from the Ravenswood youth centre and hopefully some local residents. The beauty of both projects and the day as a whole is that it will involve social action that we can all play a role in. You don't need to be a good painter. All we need are some more willing bodies who can give up some of their time on the day just to come and make a powerful impact in the area through a willingness to serve and bless others.
Three things to remember:
1. Painting tools — it isn't essential but it would be good if folk could raid their sheds and bring along any painting tools for use on the day. Brushes, rollers, roller extensions (to reach the really high places!) and also painting trays. We hope to have plenty on the day, but be sure to bring any along if you have some lying around.
2. Packed lunch! Yeah... this one is essential. Be sure to bring a packed lunch for munching on the day. You may also wish to bring some drinks as it may prove to be a hot summer's day (at least that's what we want you to pray for).
3. Old clothes. I wont insult your wisdom — just a gentle reminder not to wear your best summer holiday wears. Designer labels don't look so designer caked in white paint. Just be comfy, and be casual....
We really hope you can join us for what promises to be another great day.
