CARGO

Posted by Mike Davies on September 7. Archived.

CARGO uses music, words, dance and images to tell the story of the abolitionists' campaign, together with the struggles of the African slaves themselves, to end the slave trade 200 years ago and uses that story as a platform to raise awareness of the many forms of slavery that still exist today. It aims to show how in the past and the present ordinary people can make a difference.
Written and performed by Paul Field, CARGO is touring the country, and is being presented in Newcastle in partnership with Heaton Baptist Church at the People's Theatre on Friday, October 19th at 8pm.
Paul Field is a professional composer, songwriter, singer and record producer who has worked with many well-known artists including Cliff Richard, Elkie Brooks, Tammy Wynette, Wynnona and Point of Grace amongst others.
Tickets are priced at £4.50 for children, £6.50 for adults or £20 for a family ticket (two adults, two children). To buy tickets, follow instructions on the booking form that can be downloaded here. For further information please call the church office on 0191 265 7044.
