Not one, or two... but three new sermons from Mark Elder and Phil Jensen are now available to download as MP3s from the 'Our Publications' section of the website. Access to that part of the site now requires a password - if you're a church member, simply complete and submit the short form and you'll be issued with one soon.

The Micah Challenge

"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8 )

The Micah Challenge is an international Christian response to the glaring injustice of global poverty. In the UK, it seeks to build on the momentum created by the Make Poverty History campaign to continue to press the UK government to do more to alleviate poverty and deal with its causes.

The Micah Challenge is a movement aimed at providing Christians with a deeper understanding of God's heart for the poor, and giving them a vehicle to respond to poverty and its injustice. In 2007 Micah Challenge UK will be running a "Blow the Whistle" campaign to draw attention to the progress made globally towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals including the UK's contribution. It will be asking Christians in the UK to participate in a number of ways, culminating in a rally in London in May 2007 prior to the G8 meeting (a meeting of the eight richest countries).

Signing the Micah Call is an initial expression of support for the principles of Micah Challenge and a demonstration of a readiness to be informed of how to be involved. You can sign up online here.
