Journey begins

Posted by Phil Lightbody on August 30. Archived.

Many of us will have been on a journey over the summer with holidays taking us to places in this country and overseas. How was the journey?

This autumn at HBC we're going to be looking and thinking about 'journey' with our teaching focusing on the missionary journeys of the early church described for us in the book of Acts, one of the most exciting and dramatic books in the bible. I hope we will encounter a sense of adventure, risk and hope from what the early church were doing that will strengthen and envision us.

Are you going on a business trip (either in this country or overseas) or being sent on a conference for work or making a journey with a purpose? If so, please let me know.

Heaton Baptist Church will be running an Alpha course this autumn. Alpha is designed to introduce the core beliefs of Christianity in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that gives plenty of time for discussion and questioning. Each evening starts at 7.30pm with a meal, which is followed by a talk on that night’s topic, which is in turn followed by discussion and question time in small groups. The evening finishes at 9.30 pm. There is NO CHARGE for the course. » more
